Skirt Steak was created by Chef Laurent Tourondel with a simple idea in mind: do one thing really well, and make it accessible. No long menus, no second-guessing. Just a great cut of steak, cooked the right way, at a price that makes sense. We're a modern steakhouse in NYC that proves great dining doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate.

We serve only prime-grade skirt steak, cooked to your liking, alongside endless hand-cut fries and a crisp, simply prepared field greens salad. It is a straightforward meal built on quality, consistency and care.

And while the menu is simple, the experience is not. Our chefs love to continuously rotate our side dishes, and our pastry trolley comes to every table, showcasing house-made seasonal cakes and tartes. They are meant to be shared, or not. We don’t judge.

Chef Tourondel built Skirt Steak with a simple idea: great steak doesn’t need to be complicated. After decades running top restaurants around the world, he wanted to strip things back to what matters most — quality ingredients, cooked perfectly and served in a lively, simple and approachable setting. His vision was to create a casual steakhouse in NYC that feels energetic, welcoming and approachable.

Skirt Steak is his answer. One cut, done right, at a price that makes sense. It is rooted in the kind of places he grew up with in France, where consistency and energy matter just as much as technique. Our cool Midtown steakhouse delivers a great night out every time without overthinking it.

Location

We are just steps from Madison Square Garden. Walk in when you're ready. As a walk-in only restaurant in Chelsea, we do not take reservations unless you are a group of seven or more.
